So here’s a little something from the pile I’ve been sitting on since last winter. I went through a HUGE art kick back when my baby was still tiny and sleeping large parts of the day and since he was doing most of that in my lap, art was about all I could do. I got really bored with the repetition of body types in professional bjds so the obvious solution was to make my own!

So she’s a little rough yet, but I think once I get her casted and painted she’ll really come to life! I’m still in debate about attached hair or a wig (the first doll is getting wool dreads). Her limbs are still being sanded and I’m resculpting her feet and hands since my abilities have improved somewhat since I made the originals.

I also have some other doll concepts/rough versions I’m on the fence about scrapping or finishing, including an adorable old man I’m modifying to have a soft body and hard limbs instead of being ball jointed (mostly to keep costs down and because I don’t think the change will detract from his charm). I hope to make a sort of ugly biker guy eventually and variety of female body types/shapes. If I miraculously get good enough, I’d like to do the bodies for my monster dolls…. Though for now I’m pretty satisfied with the Obitsu ones I’m using now that I’ve figured out how to resurface the ugly shiny plastic.
